EDUCATIONAL AND SCHOOL PROGRAMS
This program applies expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally in schools and educational settings. CWC experts also partner with families, teachers, school administrators, school counselors and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community. An effective intervention requires using a team-based approach to work with students with learning disabilities, learning processes and techniques, motivation, assessment, and development of school curriculum and modules to improve support strategies.
A team-based approach also includes work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborating with community providers to coordinate needed services. Our programs assist schools to improve academic achievement, promote positive behavior and mental health, create safe, positive school climates and improve school-wide assessment and accountability, monitor individual student progress in academics and behavior.
ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
Psychological assessment is also referred to as psychological testing, or performing a psychological battery on a person. A psychological assessment include numerous components such as norm-referenced psychological tests, psychometric and standardized tests, informal tests and surveys, interview information/history taking, school or medical records, medical evaluation and observational data.
CWC shall conduct these Assessments which will be used to determine if a person has any form of disability and the level of severity, is competent to stand trial or has a traumatic brain injury, determine if a person would be a good manager or how well they may work with a team. Clinical evaluation is defined as a way of testing people behavior, personality, and capabilities to draw conclusions using combinations of techniques.
CAREER GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING/PLACEMENT
The Career guidance and counseling program at CWC will provide a wide range of related techniques and methods for individual’s career awareness, planning, decision-making, placement skills, and knowledge. This will include understanding of local, state, and national occupational, educational and labor market needs, trends, and opportunities. It will assist such individuals in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices. This shall also include personal interest and personality testing as against career choices and planning.
This program shall help students develop skills in the areas of personal/social growth, educational planning, and career and vocational development. Finally, the program will provides individual and group counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive and remedial needs of students. Consultations with students, parents, teachers and other school/community personnel will assist in meeting the needs of students.
Furthermore, CWC will interpret test results and other student data for clients and assist teachers with the educational placement of students by using appropriate educational assessment strategies.
